Cloth skullcap with colored printing on most of its surface, the emblem of the Kenesiyyah ha-Gedolah integrated with a map of Israel, the date that the convention started, and illustrations of Rashi and Rambam.
Agudat Yisrael’s fourth Kenesiyyah ha-Gedolah took place in Jerusalem from the 28th of Sivan through the Sixth of Tammuz, 1954. This was the first Kenesiyyah after the Holocaust and the first one in Jerusalem – lending it historic significance. This was the first time that issues relating to religion, the State and the State of Israel were discussed in the presence of many leading Torah personalities.
The Prime Minster and his entourage were also present at the convention. It’s possible that one of them wore this skullcap.
Minimal aging stains to the lining. Very fine condition. Rare item –atypical of Agudat Yisrael.
