The book includes a detailed, comprehensive explanation of the paths and orbits of the planets and the stars all arranged according to the groups seen in the sky. Many charts, including one for finding the secular date when only the Hebrew date is known.
Includes a large folded map, about 40×35 cm. with a round sketch of the heavens with groups of stars and zodiac signs, divided into four levels according to their size. In addition: [1] map that turns, 16.5 cm. diameter, of a group of stars, with a metal hinge and a needle to help figure out the time during all seasons of the year, according to the stars. All the names of the groups and stars are written in Hebrew! This copy has an additional [1] leaf of errata, which is not listed bibliographically.
Rabbi Zev Wolf Gerstel (1861-1931) was the rabbi of Jaryczow and studied science on the side. He was an expert in astronomy and even participated in the star observatory in Treptower Park, near Berlin. He was in touch with Albert Einstein.
