Two leaflets with restrictive regulations were distributed in Gaza City in 1956. * Manifest issued by Lieutenant-Colonel Chaim Gaon, IDF Commander in Gaza. The manifest features instructions from the military for the residents: “I hereby announce a curfew for the entire Gaza area…it is prohibited to gather in the streets or other public areas….” The manifest is written in Hebrew and Arabic and is signed in print by the Lieutenant-Colonel, in addition to the stamp of the military government in the south in Khan Yunis. Size: 35×50 cm. Fold marks, minimal holes, moderate condition. * Instructions regarding supervision of food in Gaza: “Will not be purchased, sold, or offered for sale all the food staples at a price for the consumer higher than the designated price..” Folled by a list of staples and the maximum price for consumer. The order ends with a notice regarding the hours of curfew starting on Friday the 26th of Kislev [30th of November, 1956]. Stamped by the Military Government of the South…Khan Yunis. Size: 50×35 cm.
