* Haggadah shel Pesach with the ‘Shibcha D’Mara’ commentary. Lemberg 1880. Copy which belonged to the Admo” r of Stropkov and Rabbi Moshe Katz. Passover haggadah with the ‘Shibcha D’Mara’ commentary, by Rabbi Meshulam Yissachar b” r Aryeh Leibush. The Admo” r of Stropkov’s owner’s stamps appear on the title page, as well as that of the gaon Rabbi Moshe Yehudah Katz, author of the famous Chassidic commentary on the Passover haggadah, VaYaged Moshe.

Sefer HaAruch, Lemberg, 1870. Copy which belonged to Rabbi Meir of Shatz and his wife Mrs. Vita Moskowitz, and their son, Rabbi Yoel of Shatz. The title page is inscribed, ” This book belongs to R’ Meir shlit” a of Shatz” and there are also several of his wife’s stamps, ” Rebbetzin Vita Moskowitz.” The flyleaf bears Rabbi Yoel of Shatz’s signature, ” Yoel Moskowitz” and several of his stamps. There are many inscriptions at the end of the book: ” This book belongs to the young man, son of the famous tzaddik, Rabbi Meir, zllh” h, from here, Shatz.”

* Segulah book! Siddur Chemdat Yisrael, Munkacs, 1901. Published by the Minchat Elazar of Munkacs, from a manuscript which was in the possession of the rabbi of Shinova; segulah for Heavenly protection. Prayer book for the whole year with the Ariza” l’s intentions, edited and arranged by Rabbi Shmuel Vital, son of Rabbi Chaim Vital. Very important siddur, with many approbations from leading Admo” rs: the Ahavat Yisrael of Vizhnitz, Rabbi Yehudah Tzvi of Dolina, and the Imrei Yosef of Spinka, who writes in his approbation: ” Buy this siddur as a superb protection for [your] home from all plagues and disease, an abundance of blessing and success, progeny, long life, and sustenance.” Pedigree copy! Stamps of the grandson and great-grandson of R’ Elimelech of Lizhensk, of Jerusalem. Moderate condition, without the title page and possibly also lacking a small number of leaves from the book; the introductory leaves by the Minchat Elazar of Munkacs, and the approbation by the Imrei Yosef of Spinka are extant.
Chaba” d. Siddur Torah Ohr im Sha’ar HaKollel. Vilna 1911, order of prayers according to nusach Ar” i with all the laws and customs as determined by Rabbeinu Shneur Zalman of Liadi, zy” a, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch HaRav. Two title pages, additional title page for the second part. Especially important siddur, moderate condition, detached leaves.
Rare early letter from 1947, the years of the Admo” r’s, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz’s, youth, at just 26 years old! He mentions the Admo” r of Modznitz and the Admo” r of Munkacs, and his brother, the Admo” r Rabbi Moshe shlit” a. His great appreciation for his brother, the Admo” r of Boston, can be read between the lines. 18 lines written and signed in his hand.

Book of Psalms with the Tefillah L’Moshe commentary by the author of Yismach Moshe of Sighet. First edition. Krakow, 1880. With the rare 8 leaves of subscribers, and with ma’amadot. Personal copy of the gaon Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn, Av Beit Din of Kommemiyut.Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn’s owner’s stamp appears at the end of the Tehillim: “Binyamin Mendelsohn, rabbi in Kfar Atta, near Haifa.” There are also several kvittlach on the flyleaf at the end of the book, “Moshe Yosef ben Breindel, Rivkah bat Sarah Feigel, Shraga ben Raizel.”Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn [1904-1979], Av Beit Din of Kommemiyut, was born to his father Rabbi Menachem Mendel Mendelsohn, a rabbi of Plotzk, Poland; who was a Alexander Chassid. He ascended to the Land of Israel in 1934, under the influence of the Imrei Emet of Gur. He was appointed rabbi of Kfar Atta and then as rabbi of the Chareidi settlement Kommemiyut. He was very active in shemittah observance. His name is associated with the Yossele Schumacher kidnapping affair. He was much appreciated by the Chazon Ish and the Admo”r of Belz, who was also his in-law.14-322; [8], 26 leaves. 21 cm.Moderate condition. The title page and the first leaves are lacking (the book starts in the middle of psalm 5, but many of the missing leaves [except for the title page] are found amongst the book’s leaves, most torn into several pieces). Brittle paper, Without a binding.
Siddur Ohr HaYashar – Nusach Kadinov and Karlin. Vilna, 1928. With the signature of the Admo” r Rabbi Yoel of Shatz, son of Rabbi Meir of Shatz, and brother-in-law and son-in-law of wonder-worker Rabbi Shalom of Shatz. His signature appears on the title page: ” יואל מאסאקוויטש.” The siddur bears many signs of usage.
Fine condition. Usage stains. Paper adhesions on the title page and on the last leaf.
Mishnayot Seder Moed, Vilna, 1888, with a signature in the hand of the Admo” r of Alexander’s grandfather, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Sternberg of Dej. On the first title page and on the second title page, his signature appears several times: ” Menachem Mendel, ” ” Menachem Mendel Sternberg, ” and on the flyleaf, there is the inscription, ” Belongs to the rabbi famous in all corners of the world, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Dej who presently lives in Safed, ” and also the stamp, ” Menachem Mendel Sternberg of Dej.”
The gaon Rabbi Menachem Mendel Sternberg: (1843-1916) studied Torah with the author of Ktav Sofer and with Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet of Dej. He ascended to the Land of Israel and settled in Safed.
