Flaunts the approbations of Rabbi Kook, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski, the Ohr Sameach, Netziv, Rabbi Chaim of Brisk, Rabbi Meisels, Rabbi Chaim Berlin, Rabbi Meir Berlin, Rabbi Zavitz, and Rabbi Yeshaya Karlinski.

Extremely rare proclamation by the great rabbis of Lithuania and Poland declaring a fast for all Jewry on Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul [1906].
Huge Proclamation: 69*45 cm.
At the top is a general letter signed by: the Chofetz Chaim, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Rabinowitz, Av Beit Din of Kovno, Rabbi Eliezer Gordon Av Beit Din of Telshe, and Rabbi Moshe Danishevsky the Av Beit Din of Slobodka.
Below this are printed individual letters from more than 30 rabbis and rebbes, amongst them: The Admor, author of Avnei Nezer, Rabbi Noah of Babreusk, the author of Aruch HaShulchan, Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik, Rabbi David Karliner, Rabbi Eliyahu Baruch Kamai, the Rabbi of Mir, Rabbi Itzele Ponovitzer, HaRogotzover, Rabbi Meir Atlas, Rabbi Raphael of Volozhin, Rabbi Yosef Zundel of Eishishuk, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Sender Kahana Shapira of Kreinik, and other great rabbis.
The decision to proclaim a fast was a result of the pogroms which began in [1903] in Kishinev and continued until [1906] in Odessa and Bialystok and other villages in Russia. In these riots over a thousand Jews were massacred.

The Va'ad HaLeumi was the executive arm of the Zionist Asifat HaNevcharim [National Assembly] that wanted to represent all factions of Jews in Eretz Yisrael. The Rabbis of the ultra-Orthodox community that opposed Zionism excommunicated the Va'ad and prohibited participation in its affairs. The poster is signed by about 170 rabbis, Ashkenazic and Sephardic, including prominent rabbis from Palestine and the Diaspora. Small tears, without loss of text. Fold marks. Ink stains. Moderate condition.

One of the first colored works produced by Monson press in Jerusalem.

Written and punctuated in red, black and blue. The ending of the blessing was omitted.
Blue dedication : נדבת ר' אהרן שנארך לנשמת אביו ואמו שנפטרו בגלות טראנסניסטריען בשנת תש"ב... (donation of R' Ahron Shnerch [?] in memory of his father and mother who died in the exile of Transnistria in1942]. Transnistria was the name given to a strip of land in Southwestern Ukraine that was captured by the Nazi and Romanian army in 1941. Its Jewish residents were imprisoned in ghettos and sent to death camps.

Correct path to go from government to government, to see the campaign vs. campaign and to understand providence' (editor's words). Issues for June, July, August, September, October and November of 1866. Fascinating historic information regarding the tense political situation in Europe at the time. The intrigues of Bismarck, Prussia's leader, which led to the war between Prussia and Austro-Hungary, an alliance with Italy and other events.
The newspaper was apparently printed as a section in the "HaMivaser" periodical that was published in Lemberg in the 1860s.
Modern binding. Minimal worming holes, some restored, light blemish to text. Fine condition.

Booklet regarding the establishment of separate, Orthodox educational institutions in Hungary by Rabbi Amram Fisher. [Pécs]. [1905].

Rabbi Amram Fisher (1853-1925) was a disciple of the Kitav Sofer, and the rabbi of Yaink for almost fifty years. After the Holocaust, his remains were moved to Jerusalem. Some of his Torah novellae were printed in the "Ateret Akiva" of his father, Rabbi Akiva Fisher (Refer to: HaChatam Sofer V'Talmidav, p. 532).
Not bound. Restored margins and edges. Fine condition.
Rabbi Shalom Fisher of Bnei Brak, a successful businessman, is his grandson.

The booklet includes: Azar's greetings; His article: "On three things: smoking, meat and alcohol"; "Vegetarian Food" by Kita Becher; "Vatikin" by N.Z. Mamon; "Don't Kill" by Akiva Aryeh Weiss; "The Slaughterhouse in Tel Aviv" by N.B. Havkin and Dr. A.Y. It ends with an article regarding healthy fats of the time…"Which fats should the cultured person choose? The answer, according to modern science and techniques of the time – refined oil!! What do present-day health advocates have to say on the subject??

This was the IDF's first armored brigade. It was established in March 1948 and Yitzchak Sadeh was its first commander. It consisted of tank and commando battalions that participated in the battles of the War of Independence. Most of its soldiers were previous members of Etzel and Lechi.
