Silver medal in honor of Ferdinand, Prince of Brunswick-Lüneburg. Germany, 1782.
47 mm. diameter. 45 grams. Relief depicting a bust of the prince and his title; the reverse features the triangular emblem of the freemasons with the Tetragrammaton and German text. Prince Ferdinand was famous for his battle successes as a Field- Marshal in the Prussian army during the seven-year war. He was a leader of the freemasons. He died in 1792. XF.

French text, encircled by a snake. The freemason society is an international, secret society that has existed for hundreds of years. It emphasizes vague ethical standpoints, and its values are freedom, friendship and equality. XF.
