Pair of finials, towers. Silver, partially gold-plated. North Africa.
32 cm tall. 10 cm. wide. Unidentified hallmark on the stem.
Carved silver, three-tiered, hexagonal tower, each tier smaller than the bottom one. Each side has a decorated window with a gilt bell. The sides are decorated in a nice, impressive style, like an Oriental house. Topped by a dome with sphere. Flower-shaped stem. Nice engraving around the entire perimeter of the finials, לע"נ רבי סדיחי עלוש ובתו רוזאלי.
Entirely complete and in very fine condition.

Pair of Torah Scroll finials. Silver, partially gold-plated, filigree. Hallmarked. Holland, 19th century.
35 cm. tall, 10 cm. diameter. Dutch duty mark on each finial.
Rich, delicate filigree work with floral decorations. 3 tiered tower with six rounded ribs. Each rib of the second and third tier features a 'window'. Gold-plated bell in every window and the vertexes of the bottom tier. Topped with a crown and a gold-plated sphere. Smooth base with a gold-plated marble at its top.
These finials were a popular version of the 19th century of Dutch finials shaped like towers that served synagogues in the Ashkenaizc and Portuguese community of Amsterdam.

Pair of Torah finials, owned by the gaon and tzaddik, Rabbi Masoud Asher Pinto. Silver. Morocco, 20th Century. 34 cm. tall, 10 cm. diameter.
Tower. Base with decorative engravings and dedications לע"נ משה סריקי, ולע"נ ר' מרדכי זריהן. Hexagonal house, with a window with a gilt bell in each side. Bells on the angles of the six sides. Decorated roof, nicely designed.
Rabbi Masoud Asher Pinto was born in Marrakesh, Morocco to Rabbi Moshe Laziz. In his youth, he studied Talmud, poskim and grammar by Rabbi Yaakov Danon. When he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, he settled in Petach Tikva where he was the community Rabbi and was involved in educating the youth. He was known for his lofty character traits and humility, known as a 'living mussar work'. He died on Yom Kippur morning in 1989. He has a surviving son, Rabbi Moshe Pinto shlit"a.
Along with a letter from Rabbi Moshe shlit"a confirming that he received the finials in his father's bequest.
Missing a number of bells. Light repairs and welding. All in moderate - fine condition.
