Gershom Scholem [1898-1982] was one of the major researchers of kabbalah, a librarian, and a collector of books of kabbalah, Chassidut, and mysticism. He dedicated his life to researching Jewish mysticism and was one of the first to investigate the field using academic research tools. He discovered and published many kabbalistic manuscripts and researched all aspects of the hidden Torah.
