Collection of nine books combining poet and artist Moshe Bernstein's works in painting and in poetry. All the books have dedications from the author Moshe Bernstein to author Mordechai Donitz. Israel, 1980s.
Moshe (Moishe'le) Bernstein [1920-2006] was an Israeli artist and painter. Much of his work focused on the world of the Jewish town of Eastern Europe, which was destroyed in the Holocaust. Bernstein was a prominent figure in the Bohemian circles of Tel Aviv. His paintings were, inter alia, on the walls of the Kassit café, which was a famous artists' meeting place in Tel Aviv. He was well-known and participated in various exhibitions, including in the Tel Aviv Museum and the Artists' House in Tel Aviv. Bernstein's work was displayed at private and public galleries as well as at museums in Israel (at the Haifa Museum, Mishkan L'Omanut in Ein Harod, the Katz Art Gallery and the Chemerinsky Gallery) as well as abroad (including in the Hague, Amsterdam, Paris, and Prague).
