Novellae on Tractate Berachot, Seder Moed and Tractates Yevamot and Ketubot, ends with responsa by Rabbi Akiva Eiger, Av Beit Din and lecturer in Posen.

Specifications: 44, 38: 13 leaves. 31 cm.

Unique features: Rare. Like all of Rabbi Eiger's responsa, this work was printed luxuriously, per Rabbi Eiger's explicit instructions, as mentioned in his sons' preface. Nice decoration at the end of each chapter, wide margins, and clear black letters.
About ten scholarly handwritten glosses in the margins of the work. A number of unidentified signatures on the title page and flyleaf.

Content: The book consists of three sections: short novellae on the Talmud; "ma'archot" - lengthy novellae; and "ketavim" - responsa.

Background: Rabbi Akiva Eiger merited that his Torah thoughts are exceptionally cherished and studied by Torah scholars. The questions that he left open without clear answers serve as wide pastures for developing novellae and heaps upon heaps of in-depth studies.

Condition: Very fine. Minimal aging stains. Light marginal folds.
