14 lines written, signed and stamped by Rabbi Avraham Yitzcha Hakohen Kook, from the period of his rabbinate in Jaffa, beginning of the 20th century.

In [1904], Rabbi Kook arrived in Jaffa and started serving as Rabbi of the city and settlements. This early letter was written in [1912], before he served as Chief Rabbi of Palestine.

Rabbi Kook [1865-1935] was the Chief Rabbi of Jaffa and the settlements and, after the First World War, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He established the Chief Rabbinate of Palestine where he served as the first Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi. He also founded Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav and was the father of religious Zionism.
