A letter of invitation signed by the head of the Agudat Yisrael delegation in America, Rabbi Meir Karelitz. America, 1939. A historical document.
[1] leaf. 26x20 cm. Printed by stencil. Signed.
The letter was sent during the historic visit of the Agudat Yisrael delegation to America, which was initiated by Rabbi Chaim Ozer, with the goal of re-establishing Agudat Yisrael in America and Canada. The delegation was led by the older brother of the Chazon Ish, Rabbi Meir Karelitz, who served as the rabbi of the Poalei Agudat Yisrael movement in Israel and was Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski's right-hand man. Together with him were Rabbi Zalman Yankelevitch and Rabbi Ze'ev Fishershein. In this letter, Rabbi Meir Karelitz invites one of the important rabbis in America to take part in a meeting of rabbis during the delegation's visit.
Material about the delegation is enclosed.
Filing holes, brittle paper. Slight tears in the margins. Fine condition.
