Rabbi Avraham Shalom of Stropkov [1857-1940], the first Admor of Stropkov and son of the holy rabbi of Shinowa, was a great wonder-worker. Thousands of people, especially the childless, flocked to him from across Hungary and Galicia to experience salvation through his words of salvation and mercy. It is known that his holy father of Shinowa would say of him, "I took his mother for the sake of Heav-n, and it is brought in Tanna D'Bei Eliyahu that one who marries for the sake of Heav-n will be brought children who save Israel." He was a wondrous person in all his ways, and all the leaders of his generation called after him "מקודש מקודש" ["Sanctified, sanctified"].
