Letter signed by Admor Menachem Mendel of Strikov. Zgierz, 1924.

Specifications: [1] leaf. 21x22 cm. His holy signature on two lines.

Content: The letter was written to the community of chassidim, and the Admor requests that they try to give a membership donation to the Agudat Yisrael. He details the amount and notes that this donation will hasten the redemption as it will cause all of Israel to be part of one "agudah" [group].

Background: Rabbi Menachem Mendel Landau was the first Admor of Strikov. He was the son of Rabbi Dov Berish of Biala and grandson of Rabbi Avraham of Chechnov. He lived in the village of Strikov and moved to Zgierz after the First World War. He was a prominent Admor, one of the heads of Agudat Yisrael, and among the leaders of ultra-Orthodox Jewry in Poland. He passed away in 1936.

Condition: Fine. Fold marks.
