316 . Mashmi'a Yeshua [Salonica], Yehuda Gedalia Press, [1526]. First Edition.

Mashmi'a Yeshua. Regarding the redemption of the Jewish People and the coming of the Messiah, by Rabbi Don Yitzchak Abarbanel. Printed in [Salonica], Yehuda Gedalia press, [1526]. Printed without a title page. First edition. The author explains the prophecies regarding the future redemption and the Jewish belief in the coming of Messiah. He refutes the Christian interpretation of these prophecies. The book was 'persecuted' by the Christian censors, and when it was reprinted about 122 years later in Amsterdam [1644], the printer concealed his name [Benveniste] and the place of printing [Amsterdam]. The book is therefore very rare, particularly this first edition.
38 leaves, the first six are reproductions. 30 cm. Wide margins. Light aging stains on a selection of leaves, and very few worming marks. Relatively impressive. Modern, half-leather binding. Exceptionally rare.
