With Seder Kedushah – errors in the printed prayer book, including corrections copied from the siddur of Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz.

Extremely rare book. The National Library only had an incomplete copy and just recently received a complete copy from the Valmadonna Collection.

On the title page, a handwritten owner's signature: the young Ephraim Zalman Margaliot of Brody …

Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot of Brody (1761-1828) was one of the greatest Later Authorities, author of the Shu"t Beit Ephraim, Mateh Ephraim, Yad Ephraim, Shaar Ephraim, Rosh Ephraim and more. He was both wealthy and scholarly, as such he refused to accept an official rabbinical position. He was one of the leading adjudicators and responders of his generation. He was a close associate of the leading disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch and approbated many Chassidic books. He even eulogized Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Chernobyl. 128, 45 leaves, 30 cm. Comment in ancient script on leaf 3. Leaf 3 of the second book was erroneously bound in the first book.

Fine condition. The two books are bound with a magnificent ancient leather and wood binding. Aging stains. The title page of Ot Emet has been artistically restored in the white margins.
