From the words of Professor Bezalel Narkiss's introduction: 'The Venice Haggadah is one of the three earliest illustrated Haggadas that appeared in print. After the Prague Haggadah which was published in 1526 and the Mantova Haggadah which was printed in 1560, the Venice Haggadah is the climax of the development of Haggadahs decorated with woodcuts."
