Book of Psalms with commentary by the rabbis of Alexander: the author of Yismach Yisrael, the author of Tiferet Shmuel and the author of Akedat Yitzchak, which was published by Rabbi Yehudah Leibush Makover. It is the personal copy which belonged to the holy gaon Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn, rabbi of Kommemiyut.

Handwritten signature of Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn on the flyleaf preceding the title page:

"Gift from my friend, the publisher Binyamin Mendelsohn, rabbi of Kommemiyut."

In addition, there are two glosses inside the book in Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn's handwriting, comprised of just two words each.

Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn, Av Beit Din of Kommemiyut, 1904-1979, was born to his father Rabbi Menachem Mendel Mendelsohn, who was one of the rabbis of Plock in Poland and an Alexander Chassid. In 1934, he immigrated to the Land of Israel under the influence of the Admor the Imrei Emet of Gur. He was appointed rabbi of Kfar Atta and later as rabbi of the Charedi settlement Kommemiyut. He was very active in Shemittah observance. His name was involved in the affair of the kidnapping of [the child] Yossele Schumacher. He was greatly admired by the Chazon Ish and the holy Rebbe of Belz, and was also his in-law.

Very fine condition.
