Mishneh Torah L'Rambam, Kedushah, Hafla'ah, Zeraim. Warsaw 1881. Handwritten glosses.

Dozens of lengthy scholarly comments throughout the book. The writer's identity was not clarified, but he was clearly a great scholar, well versed in the books of all the Later Authorities. Contains numerous glosses on the laws of Erchin and Charamim [which are not widely studied], along with dozens of halachic glosses on the laws of nazirut, kila'im and more.

Note, for example, a lengthy comment at the beginning of the laws of shechitah, which opens with the words: "Attributing this commentary to the Maggid Mishneh is falsehood," regarding the controversy of who authored the commentary Maggid Mishneh on these laws, a question addressed by many. The writer displays acumen of the various sides with amazing expertise and depth.

Refer to Winner's Catalog Auction 108, item 236 regarding glosses on a different part of the Rambam from the same writer.

Fine condition. Brittle paper. Aging stains. New binding.
