Bylaws instituted...in the Sanhedrin when the leaders gathered in Paris...in the first of Adar, 1807, under the shadow of Napoleon the Great. 

Specifications: [4], 72-6 pages, 23 cm. Printed from left to right. The entire work is in both Hebrew and French.

Content: French title page: "Decisions doctrinales du Grand Sanhedrin qui s’est tenu a Paris au mois d’ A dar premier, l’an de la creation 5567 Sous les auspices de Napoleon-le-Grand..".

Unique features: Detailed bylaws instituted by the members of "Sanhedrin" established by Napoleon Bonaporte in France. The Sanhedrin was gathered in 1807, primarily to discuss halachot relating to the relationship between Jews and gentiles.
The bylaws are signed by: Rabbi Yosef Dovid Siznheim; Rabbi Avraham De Cologna; Rabbi Menachem Deutsch; Rabbi Yaakov Lazard; Rabbi Ahron Shmuel and Moshe Sasportas who was a scribe. The bylaws are officially written "in French and translated into Hebrew," and signed in French and Hebrew, with the signers validating both the original and translation.
Complete copies of this work are very rare and of historic importance.

Condition: Very fine. Minimal aging stains. Simple binding.
