Teshuvah MiAhavah. Section three. Responsa by Rabbi David Fleckeles of Prague. Prague, [1821]. First edition. Signatures and many glosses by Rabbi Gavriel Dessauer, disciple of the Chatam Sofer.
Signature of Rabbi Gavriel Dessauer in a number of locations. The leaves contain dozens of glosses in his hand, some signed — halachic comments and an occasional difference of opinion with the author.
Rabbi Gavriel Dessauer (1805-1878) studied under the Chatam Sofer. In an approbation to Rabbi Dessauer's work, the Chatam Sofer bestowed many honorifics on his student. He was known as the rabbi of באלאטן-פעקאיאר, where he served as rabbi for close to forty years. He authored Yad Gavriel on the Shulchan Aruch, Kesset Gavriel on Job, and more. Refer to Kinstlicher, HaChatam Sofer V'Talmidav, 95-96.
Simple binding. Professional repair to the title page and first leaf, without loss of text. Aging stains. Fine condition.
