Four tractates in three volumes -  Kiddushin, Eruvin,  Rosh HaShanah, Chulin, from the Babylonian Talmud. Published by Vaad Agudat HaRabbanim in the American Zone in Germany, with the assistance of Vaad Hazalah. Munich Heidelberg, 1948.

These tractates have the title page illustrated with a picture of an extermination camp "Labor Camp in Germany in the Days of the Nazis." Written in the publisher's preface: "After our spirits have returned to us somewhat. At the beginning of the days of liberation, the lack of books for the people of the book was immediately felt. The evil ones, who annihilated and burned the Jews of Europe, made efforts as well to ensue that no Hebrew book would remain, and that the Jew would be burned wrapped in a Torah scroll. Death could be anticipated by anyone holding a siddur, tefillin or another book ... all Jewish books were taken for paper or some other contemptible use ... the study halls have no book from which to study ... this prompted us to print tractates for study here ..."

Various sizes and conditions, overall fine condition.
