Description: 18x26 cm. Framed in a beautiful, thick wooden frame.
Background: Otto Eichinger, 1922-2004 was a third-generation artist, his father was Erwin Eichinger.
He live in Vienna, Austria. He was one of the few artists who used a magnifying glass when he painted faces and figures; he claimed that it assisted his adding small details, which made the painting professional.

39x50 cm. Possibly drawn over an old copy of the famed picture of the Rogatchover. Signed by an unidentified artist, dated 10.3.45.
Rabbi Yosef Rosen [1858-1936] was born in Rogatchov, by whose name he is known. In his youth, he studied under Rabbi Yosef Dov Ber Soloveitchik, author of the Beit HaLevi. For about forty years, he served as chassidic rabbi of Dvinsk, alongside Rabbi Meir Simchah HaKohen, author of Ohr Sameach. He was renowned for his awesome genius and unmatched phenomenal memory. He wrote short, concise Torah novellae. Before WWII, his daughter put forth monumental efforts to photocopy her father's manuscripts and send them to America. Over the years, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Kasher published some of the Torah thoughts that were photocopied.
