Two works on the Talmud by a father and son, prominent Izmir sages. With owner signatures and notations.

1. Yad Yehuda. Novellae on the entire Tractate Shavuot and compilations on the other tractates, by Rabbi Yehuda Ashkenazi.
Specifications: [2], 67: 48 leaves. 28 cm. First edition.
Unique features: Owner signature on the title page from the Finzi family, Avraham Finzi, and another initial signature:חפנ"י. Leaf 39a bears a gloss in Sephardic handwriting, and leaf 37b bears a gloss in Ashkenazic handwriting that is signed "Meir" at the conclusion. This was possibly written by the author of Imrei Binah - there are similarities in the handwriting here to that of the famed author. This book was owned by Rabbi Eliyahu Mordechai Eisenstein, loyal helper in the home of Rabbi Shmuel Salant, and it is, therefore, plausible that this book had been loaned to the "Imrei Binah."

Condition: Fine-very fine. Light blemish to title page. Tears, not affecting text, on two leaves.

2. Mareh Einayim. References to works by Rishonim and Achronim on the order of the Talmud, by Rabbi Refael Ashkenazi.
Specifications: [2], 68-222 leaves. The pagination continues from the aforementioned work on Tractate Shavuot.
Condition: Two works bound together. Marginal worming holes in the second half of the book.
