Zichron Yaakov Orthodox historiography. Three parts bound together, with separate title pages.

Memoirs of Rabbi Yaakov HaLevi Lipschitz. Published posthumously by his son. The book constitutes an important source for Jewish history in Russia and Poland for the years 1760-1880. Draller Press, Frankfurt am Main. (Parts II and III were printed in Kovno.)

Rabbi Yaakov Lipschitz [1838-1921] was a Charedi communal worker, publicist and historiographer; Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor's secretary. He became famous as the leader of the Charedi anti-Zionist organization known as "HaLiskah HaTehorah" or "HaLiskah HaShechorah" of Kovno. Lipschitz saw the Zionist movement as the spiritual successor of the Jewish Enlightenment movement, and fought a holy war against it. His activities centered on attempts to dissuade Charedi rabbis from joining the movement.
