Rabbi Yechezkel Halberstam of Shinova [1815-1889] was the firstborn son of Rabbi Chaim Halberstam of Sanz. He was one of the leading Admo”rs of his generation and founder of the Shinova dynasty. He is called the “Divrei Yechezkel” after the name of his book. He served as rabbi in Rudnik, Rozdol, Stropkov and Shinova – by which he is known. He established a synagogue and a mikveh which still exist today. The synagogue is known as the Sanz synagogue.
