Among the important fundamental editions of the mishnayot, in which the commentary by the gadol hadorot , the av beit din of Prague, Rabbi Yom Tov Lipmann HaLevi Heller, was printed for the first time. This commentary was his primary claim to fame; it became a foundation stone of commentary on the mishnah from the publication of the first edition and until today. In this first edition, the commentary is still called “Tosefet Yom Tov” [in the singular]. In later editions, the name was changed to “Tosafot Yom Tov” [in the plural].
