22k Gold Diadem tiara worn by a princess of Moroccan royalty at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Piercing work with many unpolished dimonds ( about 2k) and nine cabochon aquamarine ( about 20K), five point star at center. Moroccan hallmarks from the era. 73 mm. tall. 72 grams total. The tiara was a prominent symbol in the bridal jewelry of the Moroccan royal family. Similar models can be seen in the royal collection in Rabat, Morocco; and items with a similar style are in the Museum in Sale, refer to Arts et Traditions du Maroc, 1998, p. 160.
