Rabbi Daniel Tirani (1740-1814) was a prominent Italian sage. He was a speaker in Ancona, rav in Lugo, and av”d in Pesaro before taking the position as rabbi in Florence. He authored Machar Chodesh, Matnat Yad, and Shem Olam.
Owner signature on title page of Rabbi Mordechai Levaton. He was born in Aleppo in 1780 and was a genius in both the revealed and hidden aspects of Torah. He was the Chief Rabbi of Aleppo and authored the Nochach HaShulchan responsa and Ben Yair on the Torah. The Jews of Aleppo relate many anecdotes about his righteousness, holiness, and the wonders he performed. He passed away in 1869. His grandsons include noted kabbalists and Torah scholars of the Hadaya and Atiya families.
