The letter was sent to Rabbi Alexander Sender Yudassin, one of the prominent Chaba”d rabbis in the Holy Land, rabbi of the Chassidic community in Jaffa for close to 50 years, member of the Beit Din and author of books on Sha”s and Tanya .
In this letter which covers two pages, the Rebbe shares his learning about the essence of Purim, according to Chaba”d doctrine. At the end of the letter, after his signature, the Rebbe brings, with his famous genius, sources and references from Chaza”l for each of the topics he mentions in the body of the letter.
The Admo”r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson [1902-1994] was the seventh leader in the dynasty of Admo”rs of Lubavitch. He served as Admo”r from 1951 until his passing. He was a tremendous genius in all realms of Torah, and his net was – and still is – cast across the entire world.
