Written by Rabbi Yeshaya Shapira to the Chief Rabbinate in Jerusalem, regarding the immigration of Rabbi Chaim Meir Shapira, the first Admor of Drohovtiz. Regarding a confirmation that the new immigrant would not be supported from public coffers.
HaRav Yeshaya Shapira of Grodzinsk was born in 1891, in Poland to Admor Elimelech Shapira of Grodzinsk. He was a Chovev Tzion and immigrated to Eretz Yisrael where he worked in construction. He was known as the “Admor HaChalutz” – the Pioneering Rebbe. The Admor of Drohovitz fled to Vienna during the First World War and wanted to immigrate to Palestine. The confirmation mentions the Admor and his family.
