Letter from Rabbi Yisrael Weltz, rav”d Budapest, from [1938]. Letter on an official postcard, nice hand, with nice prose. Rabbi Yisrael Weltz was born in 1887. He was a disciple of the Shevet Sofer in Pressburg and other Hungarian Torah greats. In 1917, he became av”d in תטיניע, and then, in 1929, in Budapest. He survived the Holocaust and continued serving as rav”d in Budapest until he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1950. He authored the three-volume “Divrei Yisrael” responsa.
