Rare and unique letter on letterhead, signed by all the rabbis of the Eidah HaChareidit. Extremely rare.
Specifications: [1] leaf, paper letterhead. Intriguing and rare. 21×27 cm.
The letter is signed by:
Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Weiss, author of Minchat Yitzchak and Gaon Av Beit Din of the Eidah HaChareidit, Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, Gaon Av Beit Din of the Eidah HaChareidit, Rabbi Yisrael Moshe Dushinsky, Gaon Av Beit Din of the Eidah HaChareidit and the Admor of Dushinsky, Rabbi Yisrael Ya’akov Fisher, Rav Av Beit Din of the Eidah HaCharedit, Rabbi Binyamin Rabinowitz, a member of the Badatz HaEidah HaChareidit and the Admor of Mishkenot HaRoim, Rabbi Avraham David Horowitz, member of the Badatz HaEidah HaChareidit and father-in-law of Rabbi Mendel of Vizhnitz.
Special Features: The letterhead is in essence a page filled with small and crowded letters containing warnings [such as: “Each copy is required to bear the original stamp of the Badatz”], repeated dozens of times in Hebrew and English. The reason being that at the time counterfeiters would forge signatures of the Eidah HaChareidit’s rabbis for recommendations, approbations and the like. And so, for a short duration – until a solution was found for the fraud – a letterhead with small, crowded letters, difficult to imitate, was used as a temporary solution.
Condition: Two small holes within the fold marks at page’s center, with slight damage to one letter. Fine condition.
