The author Rabbi Ya’akov ibn Na’im was the son-in-law of Rabbi Aharon Lapapa of Izmir, he was rabbi in Izmir in place of Rabbi Chaim Benveniste; he passed away before the book’s publication.

The author was an adjudicator and sermonizer in Salonika. The book was brought to print by his grandson, R’ Yosef Rephael.
