Passover haggadah, handwritten, with nikud. Yemen, 19th century.
[18] leaves. 17×23 cm. Square Yemenite script. The first leaf is a fragment from a different Passover haggadah.
Opens with a prayer recited before Kiddush, topped by a decorated frame. The haggadah includes instructions and the “Ma Kvar” in Arabic. The copier inserted an excerpt from the Aleppo siddur after the “Vayotzi’anu Hashem Mi’Mitzrayim,” which “should be recited to remember Hashem’s kindness and love for His nation…” This explanation is found in a few other manuscripts that follow the Yemenite and Baghdad customs.
Original, old leather binding. Aging stains. Detached leaf. Fine condition.
