Psak din confirming the sale of two well-defined synagogue seats, by two brothers. The sale was announced in the synagogue and no opposition was voiced, so the dayanim announced that the section of the sellers now belonged to the buyer, and this fact was recorded in the appropriate ledger.
Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib ben Rabbi Menachem Mendel was the Rabbi of Mezeritch from 1711 and of Boskovice, Moravia, from 1720. When he was the Rosh Yeshivah of Boskovice, the young Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Kolin studied in his yeshivah, later known as the author of the Machatzit HaShekel. In 1741, Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib moved to Nikolsburg where he served as rav”d and teacher. The verdicts of his beit din in Nikolsburg are recorded in the manuscript of Shu”t Pri Genosar; his other manuscripts were lost. He passed away on Shabbat, 20 Adar 1755.Refer to: Tzefonot, 18 [1993], p. 83.
