Interesting receipt with a picture of the Mir yeshiva building. Over the course of the years, there has been some uncertainty regarding which building housed the yeshiva. This receipt, therefore, serves as important historical testimony regardng the authentic yeshiva structure. The building appears in a picture on an original, official receipt of the Mir Yeshiva that is signed by the Rosh Yeshiva,. The receipt features special text in three languages: “The Yeshiva was established in 1817, from then until now it has filled its mission of disseminating Torah, wisdom and knowledge of Hashem…”. The reverse features the bylaws for trustees and volunteers. Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel [1877-1965] was the Rosh Yeshiva of Mir when it was still in the village of Mir, and reestablished it in Eretz Yisrael. He was a member of the Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah of Agudat Yisrael. Light tear in the upper section, creases. Fine condition.
