Rabbi Simchah HaLevi Soloveitchik [1879-1941] was rabbi of Mohilev. He was a son of Rabbi Yosef Dov HaLevi Soloveitchik, author of Beit HaLevi , born to him in his later years. Simultaneous with his rabbinate in Mohilev, he delivered classes at the yeshivah in Shklov, which was led by Rabbi Pesach Pruskin. He immigrated to the United States in 1924, where he served as rabbi of the “Tiferet Yisrael – Anshe Brisk” congregation for immigrants from Brisk, in Brooklyn, New York. He also served as the head of the Rabbinic Union. His book Simchah L’Artzecha was published in 2018 – photocopies of his novellae. His sons are: Rabbi Yosef Dov, who served as Av Beit Din in Spring Valley, New York; and Rabbi Yitzchak Soloveitchik, a rosh yeshivah in Jerusalem.
