To dedicate some time every day to absorb the cure [Torah], so that none of the prevailing philosophies should move him from his position…” Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv was [1910-2012] was born in Šiauliai , Lithuania; an only child, born to his parents after seventeen years of marriage. In 1924, he and his family moved to Eretz Yisrael and settled in the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem. He was a dayan on the Beit Din HaRabbani HaGadol, and later became the foremost posek of the generation. Very fine condition.
