Two letters from the community of Ragusa in Sicily to the community of Trieste in Italy, with requests for support. 1826, 1867. Eastern handwriting.
The first letter from 1826 is signed by the Rabbi of the Ragusa community Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Mondolfo in which he describes the terrible situation and requests to transfer money “to…the rich man Yaakov son of Rabbi Chananya Menervi”.

The second letter from 1867 was sent soon after the death of Rabbi Mondolfo, and contains eulogies on him and a request for help. This letter was signed by the distinguished members of the congregation in Latin letters.
