Yosef Tehillot. Psalms with the commentary of Rabbi Chaim Yosef Dovid Azulai - the Chid"a. Leghorn, [1801]. First edition.

Specifications: 144 leaves, 19 cm. M. Benayahu, Sifrei HaChida 36.

Background: First edition of Psalms with the commentary printed by the Chid"a himself. The Chid"a added various supplements: The virtues of reading Psalms, a "Yehi Ratzon" prayer to be recited prior to and after reading Psalms, Seder Pidyon L'Choleh, Beit Menucha - an order of learning for a yartzheit, prayer to be recited after saying verses of Psalms for an ill person, and a prayer to be recited on Yom Kippur prior to Mincha.

Condition: Fine. Aging stains. A number of leaves at the beginning of this work have been taken from another copy. New leather binding.
