Tiny leather case, 25×30 mm. with 11 tiny pictures of Jerusalem, published by Palphot, 1950s.
The photos depict the Old City, the Tower of David, the University building, the Western Wall, Mt. Zion, walls of the Old City, the Y.M.C.A. building, the Knesset building, Meah Shearim, Herzl’s tomb, general view of the Old City. The back of one photo has a handwritten inscription from 1956.
Size: 25×30 cm.
The word ירושלים appears on the case in faded gilt letters. Fine condition.

Album of views and flowers. Olive wood binding. Photographs taken of the city of Jerusalem in large format. Dried flowers native to the same region as in the picture are g lued to the parallel page of each picture . Magnificent olive wood binding with a carving of the Franciscan Cross [“Jerusalem Cross”], and the caption: JERUSALEM.
The album contains 11 pictures; a general view of the city of Jerusalem, Jaffa Gate, Jerusalem from the West, Al-Aqsa Mosque, a street in the Old City, Rachel’s Tomb, Nazareth, and Tiberias. An interesting album, with a combination of black-and-white photographs and photographs in colored lithographic print. Each picture is described in three languages, English, French and German.
Album: 26×22 cm. Picture plates: 19x15cm.

When open, the panorama measures 80 cm. It depicts the city of Jerusalem from its edge, the Terra Sancta compound through “Emek Ha’Anakim.” The upper section features a map key of the various sites in the city.

Looseleaf with eight postcards depicting the very beginning of the city Raanana. The binder was published in honor of the city’s 25th anniversary, on Chanuka [1947]. Palphot publishing.
The postcards depict Achuza Street, Rambam Street, shopping center, Beit Knesset HaGadol, council offices, local school, housing for soldiers after service and immigrant camps, and a general view.
The jacket of the binder was inscribed by the president of the local council of Raanana to Mrs. Frieda Katz on 18/7/1950.

1. 100 colored stereoscope photos from the “Holy Land” series, depicting the people and places of the Holy Land . Published in 1899 by T.W. Ingersoll. In an original box, shaped like a book.
Most of the photos depict the Arab residents of the Holy Land going about their everyday life. The others depict scenery and noted holy sites, primarily around Jerusalem. The photos bear printed captions regarding their images in the margins and on the back.

2. Wood and aluminum stereoscope with engraved decorations. Manufactured by Underwood & Underwood. New York.
Most of the photos are in very fine condition, other than two which are torn in the upper left corner.

Printed postcard published by the Chafetz Chaim with interesting text about his livelihood from the sale of his books, a price list of his books, start of the 1930s. Rare.
The name of the Chafetz Chaim appears in print with the text: “Before the outbreak of the war, my books were sold by representatives in America, and now it is difficult for me to continue with this because it is hard to send people there, I therefore notify that anybody who wishes to procure my works can reach me by post at the address on the other side of the leaf, and one should know that my primary income is from these works that Hashem allowed me to write, because I do not take anything from the yeshiva.” With a chart of a list of his works and their prices listed in pound. Ends with the Chofetz Chaim’s signature in print. ישראל מאיר הכהן. The back features Polish text with an address where questions about his books should be sent. With postcard divisional lines.

Greeting card of the Bikkur Cholim V’Linat Tzedek Society – people’s clinic [established in 1925].
Star of David in the center, on top with a scene of a patient being treated at the hospital on the left. Stamp inscribed ‘Dmei Purim’ and printed inscription: ‘The Bikkur Cholim V’Linat Tzedek Society in Tel Aviv bless his honor and his family with the blessing of complete health and thank him very much for his generous donation, in the merit of this, “And I will remove illness from among you” should be fulfilled in you,’ and the institution’s stamp. Handwritten inscription on the reverse.
‘Bikkur Cholim V’Linat Tzedek’ in Tel Aviv was established in 1925, the institution in Palestine was modeled on a similar clinic which was established in Romania and in Lithuania at the end of the 19th century.

* Shana Tova postcard with a verse relating to Rosh Hashana. The Ten Commandments at the top, shofars, clouds and other motifs alluding to the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai, impressive graphics on the right and left in woodcut style with two seven-branched menorahs and two cantors. Hungarian text at the bottom: “Boldog Ujevet” [year of bliss]. Not posted. Stains.

Two rare Shana Tova postcards and a “prize.” Germany and Austria, start of the 20th century.
* “L’Shana Tova Tikatevu” postcard, published by the Wiener Werkstate, printed in Austria. Postcards made by the Vienna Workshop between 1907-1918 were designed by the leading artists of the time [Kokoschka and Egon Schiele] and are considered the most prominent and most beautiful art-nouveau postcards.
* Shana Tova postcard with a unique designed relief – a floral chariot driven by a pair of birds – the relief and filling is in gold ink. Printed in Germany. Posted in 1912.
* Rare “prize” – a boy and girl sitting on a wooden chair. The girl is holding a basket of flowers and there is an umbrella above their heads. Hebrew text, “L’Shana Tova.” Made in Germany independently – not as part of a series.

On the right, in the center, a picture of Herzl is surrounded by zionist thinkers [Bialik, Dr. Blum and others], with ‘The Idea’ written on top. On the left, a star of David with an image of the high commissioner surrounded by five practical zionist activists [Trumpeldor, Weitzmann, and others] and ‘The Action’ written. Postcard blemished and torn in its margins. Not posted.
* Postcard depicting Herzl’s image against a backdrop of pilgrims, facing an imaginary angel holding an Israel flag, his book Medinat HaYehudaim beside him and ‘If you desire it, it is no dream’ written. Administration of the auction and conditions of Auction:
The auction itself will be directed by an experienced auctioneer according to the standards and regulations of auction houses. We request
visitors and participants to familiarize themselves with the regulations and current conditions. We recommend that people unfamiliar with
these regulations ask our staff at the exhibition for the information they deem necessary.
* Participation in the public auction and receipt of a “participant’s number” are tantamount to the confirming and agreeing that the
recipient of the number is familiar with the regulations, procedures, and conditions of our exhibitions and public sales. Any problems
arising during the auction sale or afterwards as a result of a purchase will be resolved by the purchaser and the management of the company
in according with accepted practice.
* Since the company is merely the organizer and administrator of the exhibition and auction, and is not the owner of the items themselves,
it is hereby agreed and stipulated that in no case will the Company be responsible to the purchasers after the transfer of the payment to the
seller- owners. Thus, in case the payment received from a purchaser has already been transferred to the owner, and even if the complaint
or claim made by the purchaser is justified, and we make every effort to have his money retuned to him by the owner, we shall be under
no obligations to do so, and shall not engage in any legal proceedings after it has been handed over to the owner, though we shall agree
to provide the purchaser with suitable documentations on our part to enable him to engage in such legal proceedings against the owner.
* Upon receipt of the “participant’s number”, in person or via telephone, the potential buyer agrees and obligates himself not to prosecute
us or place a lawsuit against us in the event of damage caused or error in the catalogue description. Any complaints or claim after transfer
of the money to the seller, are only valid against the seller himself.
Prices and Estimates:
Participations in the auction is expressed: (a) by the personal presence of the purchaser in the hall; (b) by the presence of his representative;
(c) by means of written or telephoned bids empowering the management of the company to purchase various items for the person ordering
them (d) Via the Internet.
* The presence of the purchaser’s representative obliges him to make good his purchases, with whatever this entails. The company shall
not agree to obligate his sender or to free the representative of any obligation, even though the representative may fill his sender’s name
explicitly in our forms.
* If we receive a telephone or written order for a certain item, we shall strive to act in the interest of the person giving the order, just as if
he himself was in the hall. We, however, are under no obligation to obtain the item for him.
* We are under no obligation to accept any bid, including the highest bid, even though the purchaser or his representative is personally
present in the hall and participating in the auction.
* The auction itself is administered by announcing numbers in US$, though the actual payment may be made in either Shekalim in
accordance with the average rate of exchange which will be announced at the auction hall or at the day of the payment (The highest) or in USD.
* A 24% commission charge is added to all payment made by purchasers up to $500,000. 20% is added up to $501,000. A Vat ia added only on this comission charges. This percentage is an integral part of the bid accepted by the auctioneer during
the auction, and all obligations, etc, apply also to this percentage
* A foreign resident will be exempt from VAT only if the item purchased is shipped outside of the country by the company without its
guarantee and subject to receipt of an export entry from the custom authorities. The purchaser will cover all related expenses.
* Bank and personal checks are accepted tentatively, until they are honored by the bank.
* Payment by cash, checks or transfers within the country will be accepted without further charge. Foreign checks, credit cards (from
Israel) will be charged an additional 1.5%. bank transfers from foreign countries will be charged an additional 1.5% min. $30. Credit card
payments from foreign countries will be charged an additional 3%.
* Each item is accompanied by an estimate value made by our experts. There is no guarantee that the item will not be sold for a lower
estimate nor that the actual price of the item will not be much higher than the highest estimate value. This paragraph does not detract from
our consistent defense of the minimum price determined by the owner of the item.
Additional information and conditions:
* The purchaser or his representative will claim the purchased item as soon as possible. We request that he appear within seven days to
make the payment and collect the acquisition: under no circumstances is this to take place after 14 days from actual date of auction. After 14 days storage charges may be charged of $5.00 per lot per day. The purchaser himself is solely responsible for the dispatch of items to his home, in any way that he deems fit. The purchaser is responsible for the costs involved in such dispatch. Optional shipping insurance is available.
* The purchased item will not leave the company’s premises until payment is made.
* If payment is not received within 14 days of the auction, Winners reserves the right to cancel the sale unilaterally, without foregoing
their claim for commission.
* ATTENTION OWNERS: The company is not responsible for the actual carrying- out of payments undertaken by the purchasers during
the auction. In the event that obligations by the purchaser are not honored, we shall support the former owner of the item is taking steps
to obtain the payment owing him, but we shall not engage in legal procedures against purchasers. We shall proceed in all ways we find
suitable, but we are under no obligations to do so.
* Purchasers and sellers agree to be considered legal parties in every way in case we exercise the rights we are hereby granted to engage in
legal proceedings, or any other accepted steps against a party who does not honor its obligations.
