This ketubah is illustrated in Encyclopaedia Judaica , Jerusalem, Keter Publishing, 1972. Volume 10, color plate between col. 940 and 941. It was also exhibited at the New York World’s Fair, 1964-1965.

Ketubas from the city of Warsaw are rare. In the ketuba collection in the National Library, only five ketubas from Warsaw are recorded between the years 1800-1921.

The amulets feature kabbalistic names, protective verses, incantations, G-dly name combinations, angels’ names. Amulets for harmony in the home, protection from the evil eye, income, and success. Also includes a protective amulet made of metal, amulet with illustrations of star of David and ladders, amulet shaped like a mezuza case and more. Some of the amulets are in a sewn cloth or leather case with a carrying lace [they have not been checked outside of their case.]

Two columns. Each stanza opens with a name of one of the Israelites’ campsites in the desert [Sukkot, Eitam, Pi HaChirot etc.] and concludes with a word from Rabbi Nechunya ben HaKana’s prayer, “Ana BiKoach.” The margins feature text according to the verse: “And G-d will remove from our midst all disease and illness and will fulfill within us the verse that says, I will remove all disease from your midst.”

* Handwritten leaf with interesting inscription in block print detailing the renewed kabbalat haTorah according to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai: ‘We hereby accept upon ourselves the Torah which was given at Mount Sinai … We hereby accept upon ourselves anew, a complete and total acceptance … and this acceptance is according to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and his son Rabbi Elazar … and our mouths are as their mouths and our instructions are as their instructions … and this acceptance is upon us and our children, and our children’s children until the end of the world.’ N. S. V. signature on the margins of the manuscript.
* Printed leaf – Safeguard from plague – a great and wonderful segulah for protection from all evil during children’s illnesses … tried and tested by the gaon Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum, author of Yismach Simchah and other famous tzaddikim, the gaon of Sanz, Belz, Shinova, Sighet, Lishke and more great personalities – printed in Skulen.
* Two printed pages – with the text of the thirteen attributes of mercy and Tashlich, distributed during the saying of Tashlich on the second day of Rosh HaShanah, Frankfurt, beginning of the 20th century. On one page, there is an attached page with a stamp ‘Yeshiva of the Fulda Community’ [Fulda was a city in the Hesse province, Germany, on the Fulda River].
* Three printed pages – ‘Safeguard for a Male Child’ and ‘Mazal Tov for a Male’ with psalm ‘Shir HaMaalot Esah Einai el HeHarim’ and angels’ names and incantations.

* A coin for protection wrapped in paper and signed with the handwritten signature of the hidden righteous man the ‘Holy Floorer’ Rabbi Avraham Yechiel Fisch.
* A photograph in which Rabbi Fisch is seen with guests at a chanukat bayit.
It is well known that he usually gave out amulets of this sort against the evil eye.
The two items are in a pleasant wood and glass frame. Not checked out of the frame.
Rabbi Avraham Yechiel Fisch [d. 13th of Elul, 1998] was a disciple of the “Holy Shoemaker”, and a hidden Tel Aviv kabalist. Per the instructions of the Baba Sali, he revealed himself at the end of his life and many people came to him for blessings and words of comfort. He was known as a miracle worker and was called by his profession, “the Holy Floorer”.
