German inscription impressed on one side of the medal: “dem streiter für recht und freiheit DR. gabriel riesser seine hamburgischen glaubensgenossen MDCCCXXXVI” and in Hebrew: For the justice and freedom fighter, Dr. Gabriel Riesser from his friends / his community in Hamburg.
Relief of 3 women on the reverse, the middle one nursing 2 children, the right one dressed in royal clothing and a crown, decorated with crosses, symbolizing Christianity, and the left one chained to the Decologue representing Judaism. Verse in German on top: “haben wir nicht alle einen vater – hat uns nicht ein gott erschaffen” (Malachi 2:10) “Have we not all one father, has not one G-d created us.”
Gabriel Riesser (1806-1863) was a Jewish lawyer and politician and was one of the leaders working for Jewish emancipation.

Silver mezuzah case, apparently not hallmarked. Poland, 19th century.
14×5 cm. Formed like a decorated silver plate, with a rectangular box topped by a removable cover for inserting the mezuzah parchment. The upper section of the case features a decorated opening through which the parchment can be seen.
“Rings” for attaching the mezuzah to the doorpost on top and bottom, (missing one ring). Fine condition.
Spice box, shaped like a citron, for hanging in the sukka. 2 sections. Hallmarked silver. Filigree work. Second half of the 19th century.

Shaped like an etrog (citron) with “pitim” , with filigree decorations and beads. The upper section is movable, and has a large ring at its head, with a chain for hanging it in the sukka (apparently not original).
Two tiny losses to the filigree. Light dents. Fine condition.

Oval case made of nice, delicate hammer work. Decorative leaves and fruits on the base and under the rim. Removable cover, also decorated. Designed in the “Biedermeier style” popular in Germany at the beginning of the 19th century. Very fine – excellent condition.
Torah Scroll pointer. Silver, hallmarked. North Africa, beginning of the 20th century.
30 cm. long. Fist with one pointing finger and a wide, flat sleeve decorated and engraved למנוחנת משה מולחו נ”ע ת”‘. Designed rod with a decorative hanging ring at its top, attached with a hinge.
Small, solitary corrosion marks. Very fine condition.
