After beginning to print them, the Proops printers of Amsterdam claimed that they have the exclusive right to print the Talmud, with approbations they received in their print of Shas, Amsterdam 1752-1765. There were severe decisions taken by the Va’ad Arba HaAratzot, determining that the tractates printed in Sulzbach must be burned or hidden. Refer to R’ N.N.
