Work regarding the Hebrew language by Shlomo Bloch. Hanover, 1826.
XX introductory pages. [1], 63 pages. 20 cm.
The author starts by addressing the heads of the University in Göttingen, its professors and students etc. – in Hebrew. Most of the work is in German. Many Hebrew quotes. The author also quotes contemporary personalities such as Naftali Hertz Wessely [in Hebrew] and others.
The title page notes [in German] that this is a second, expanded edition; however there is no known first edition. This is also the only edition with this name. Later editions were titled “Binyan Shlomo”.
Especially rare work. The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book did not see the work. It was listed according to a copy in the British Library, so there are inaccuracies in its entry.
Shlomo Bloch printed many works, poems, a Purim tractate and more.
Old, simple cardboard binding. Very fine condition.
