A letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Yosef Leifer. The letter was sent to his brother Meir “The renowned righteous man, holy pious and pure, most elevated and praiseworthy…”. In the letter, he informs him of an upcoming marriage celebration, and congratulates him for another wedding which is imminent. Rabbi Yosef Leifer, founder of Pittsburg chassidut was the son of Rabbi Yissachar Ber of Satmar. He lead his followers in the city of Krula until his emigration to America in 1926, where he led his disciples in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
