Passport 15×9 cm. The passport was issued in the management of the Gebiet des Oberbefehlshabers Ost in November 1917, with an ink-stamp “Verwaltungsgebiet Litauen” – the administration in Lithuania. The passport was issued by the German authorities in the territories which Germany temporarily conquered in the First World War. Its clauses are written in both Yiddish and German. Among the clauses of the decrees which appear in it are punishments of between five and ten years for a person found without a passport, the owner of a forged passport etc. Likewise, punishments for one who does not report the loss of a passport within 24 hours. In the passport is a photograph of the passport holder, and her fingerprint. Fine condition.
