Leib Kvitko is considered the greatest Yiddish children’s author of the USSR. He supported the October Revolution. In 1949 he was imprisoned and exiled, and in 1952, he was murdered in what is known as the Night of the Murdered Poets, when a huge number of Jewish leaders and poets were murdered in the Soviet Union. On the last leaf, there is a table of the Hebrew alphabet letters (print and script), and Russian (Cyrillic) letters.
