An ancient Sefer Torah hundreds of years old on Gevil. Spain?
Written on brown gevil, in the script and according to the tradition of Spain. The strips are 55-58 cm tall.
The Sefer Torah consists of up of early strips of gevil and strips from later periods that replaced worn pieces.
There are two sections of ancient strips:
a. Shemot 36:26 to Bamidbar 29:26.
b. Bamidbar 32:27 to Devarim 27:15.
The Sefer Torah is complete, however, due to its age, it has been damaged and cannot be used for the Torah reading. The ink on a number of strips has been damaged and smudged, probably by dampness. The text has faded, been blurred or erased in a number of places. The stitches between the sheets have partially unraveled in a number of places. Moderate condition.
